Tongits is a three-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. The dealer receives 13 cards; the other two players receive 12 cards each. The remaining cards form the central draw pile (called the bunton). The goal is simple: reduce the total point value of unmelded cards in your hand to zero — or as low as possible — before the deck runs out or before you call a showdown.
On your turn, you draw either from the top of the bunton or pick up the discard pile's top card. Then you discard one card face-up. You can also lay down valid melds — sets or sequences — to reduce your hand's dead weight. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) carry 10 points each. Aces are worth 1. Number cards carry their face value.
The round ends in one of three ways: a player goes out completely (Tongits!), a player calls a Fight when the deck is low, or the deck runs out. At showdown, the player with the lowest point total in unmelded cards wins the pot. Adding one or more of your cards to an opponent's existing meld on the table. Great for dumping high-point cards you can't otherwise meld. Use it wisely — it helps both you and your opponent clear cards.
Getting rid of every card in your hand — melded or discarded on your last turn. Instantly ends the round in your favor, regardless of what other players hold. You take the full pot. The most celebrated play at any jili7org Tongits table.

Face cards are worth 10 points each. If you can't meld them, get rid of them early in the round — especially when opponents haven't laid down many melds yet. The longer you hold Kings and Queens without a sequence forming, the more you'll bleed at showdown. This is one of the most common mistakes newer jili7org Tongits players make.
Reading the discard pile tells you what cards your opponents don't need — and by extension, what they might be collecting. If two 8s have been discarded, chasing a set of 8s is probably a waste of time. Pay attention to discard patterns, especially in mid-game when the picture becomes clearer. It's the same skill you'd use at a physical Tongits table.
Calling Fight forces all players to show their hands when the bunton is running low. Only do it when you're confident your point total is lower than both opponents — not just one. If you call Fight and lose, you pay a penalty. At jili7org, the Fight button lights up automatically when conditions allow it, so you won't miss the window.
If an opponent has a meld on the table and you're holding cards that fit it, Sapaw is your friend. You remove points from your hand at the cost of extending their meld — a worthwhile trade when you're sitting on a high-point card you can't use anywhere else. Don't sit at a ₱500 ante table if your bankroll is ₱500 total. A good rule at jili7org is to have at least 20x the ante as your session bankroll. This gives you enough rounds to weather bad luck and play your actual game rather than feeling pressured to bet recklessly. Start at the Palengke table, build confidence, then move up.
Getting Tongits (going out with zero cards) is glorious, but it's not always worth waiting for. If your hand is running efficiently at 10–15 points, calling Fight when the time is right beats holding out for a perfect Tongits finish while an opponent quietly gets there first. Winning at Tongits is about consistently low totals, not dramatic all-or-nothing plays.
